The grooming options available to each cat will be determined by a number of factors. These include, but are not limited to the cat’s condition, age, temperament, coat type, and breed, as well as the preferences of the individual owners. Once we see your cat in person, we can better determine what choices are available.

When you will bring your cat at our salon, a groomer will meet you and assess your cat:

  • general condition of coat/skin
  • coat matted
  • type of coat
  • temperament
  • cat needs
  • owner needs

Following that initial evaluation, the groomer will explain to you the different grooming options available for your cat according to your specific needs. Below are the grooming packages and add-on services that Furry Friends Spa & Daycare is offering:

Grooming packages

Full Groom for long and short haired cat: includes sanitary clip, detangle, deshedding, nail trim, ear cleaning, face and eye cleaning, bath, blow dry.

Lion Clip: Most popular style is the lion clip where the body of the cat is shaved, leaving the head, mane, boots and tail. Lion clip are done for a variety of reasons. Many times, if the cat is severely matted, the only remedy is to shave off the damaged coat. At other time, a cat is given a lion cut to make it cooler or to cut down on shedding and hairballs. Often, it is done simply because the cat seems happier when it is not wearing its heavy coat.

Comb-cut: A comb-cut is actually a longer lion cut. It is a good solution if you donʼt want your cat shave but clipped. The length can be anywhere between 3/8 to 1 inch. This option is only available to none matted cats.

À la carte

Nail trim: cat claws are extremely effective weapons and therefore dangerous. They should be trimmed as short as possible to avoid injury.

*Nail trims are added to all services mentionned for the well being of the cat, and safety of our groomers.

Sanitary Clip: Long hair breeds as well as obese or elderly cats often have a difficult time keeping their hygenic areas clean when they use the litter pan. Keeping this area shaved will alleviate this problem. Also, this can keep the area mat-free.

Belly Shave: Many long hair cats have a tendancy to mat on the belly. If this is the case, a belly shave will be necessary, since it is too sensitive of an area to de-mat. The owner may also request a belly shaved to keep the cat neater, cleaner, and cooler.

Bath: It is the most vital part of the grooming process. Because cats have greasy skin and coat, the bath is needed to produce a clean finish. The coat will also stay mat-free for several weeks without having to worry about it.

Soft Claws: are nail caps designed for cats to save your furniture and floors from damage. These are a good option for cats that are more destructive scratchers. First, we trim the nails, then, we apply a surgical glue and a plastic caps over top. They usually last up to 6 weeks.

Toe tuft trim: Toe tufts are longer hairs growing on the bottom of the feet in between the paw pads. There are times that the owner might request that the toe tufts be trimmed especially if they track the litter box pan. This can be done with a small clipper on request only.

Ear cleaning: Eliminate odors and help to prevent ear infections. A natural ear cleaning solution designed for the feline is used.

Face and Eye cleaning: A must after the bath.
